Hanna Haunted Acres isn't as much a haunted house as it is an entire campus full of thrilling fun. There are six events — a haunted hayride, a corn maze, and four separately-themed haunted houses — each priced at $13. No event is worth the $13 on its own, so the $27 all-event pass is the way to go. I took my teenage brothers, my 21 year-old sister, and my girlfriend, and everyone had a great time. The staff is very friendly and we spent almost three hours there, including time in line. Two of the events, Blackout and Carnevil, were very short and somewhat lackluster, but the hayride and other houses compensate for their short-comings. It’s important to note that in this case, the five stars do not represent absolute perfection, but rather that Hanna Haunted Acres is the best haunted attraction I’ve ever been to. Through Nov. 1, $27 all-event ticket.

The strong point here is multiple haunts at a single location providing variety, and an evening's worth of seasonal entertainment. Obviously, the Hayride is the main event, and it's supplemented with 5 differently themed, supporting attractions. It offers a cozy bonfire alongside the queue line to keep you warm on a chilly night while you wait, and it's a great place to hang out with friends, making the venue more inviting. The introduction of Blackout only adds to the scare options available, and lengthens the amount of on-sight entertainment. The extended Phantazmagoria course strengthens its performance, and Hell's ½ Acre provides Hanna's most intimidating adventure. Entanglement is an outstanding finisher, and while Acres Manor remains the weakest link, it has unrecoginzed potential, and can also be looked at as a more family friendly option. As is often the case, the aggregate effort at Hanna Acres as a unit outscores many of its independent attractions considered on an individual basis. Purchasing the combo ticket is definitely the way to go, and the price hasn't been raised in years!

I really really really hated Haunted Hanna Acres, which means it was one of the best haunted houses I've ever been to. I don't really like haunted house type things (for some reason I just give off this "mess with me!" vibe) and I am easily disturbed, even though I know it's all fake. My fiance loves this stuff though, so I thought we would give it a try. There are 5 distinct attractions. The corn maze, 3 "fright" houses, and a haunted hayride. I made it fine through the Corn Maze, although I did scream quite a bit and we got lost and ended up leaving through the entrance - oops! We went to Phantazmagoria (haunted house) next. I totally lost it. In fact, I was so bent out of shape, we left after that, without doing the 3 remaining attractions. If you really want to be scared senseless, I highly recommend this place. If you're slightly sensitive like me, avoid at all costs!
